Fire Extinguishing Materials

Extinguishing Materials

Fire is a result of many incidents due to natural events or neglects. When fire is not intervened, it will pose a life threatening hazard and will damage many places. For this reason, it is very important to know the extinguishing materials. Fire powder is well known among extinguishing agents. Beside this, other extinguishing agents are also present.

Water

Water is the leading extinguishing materials. The most common material used in fire fighting is water. There are many features of water to extinguish the fire. First of all, it is a very effective refrigerant.

It cools down the fire place and descends to the bottom of the fire and extinguishes it in a short time. It also has a coating and choking features. At this point, it covers the fire and leaves it as oxygenless and causes the fire to extinguish in a short time. If we talk about its emulsion feature, when it contacts with fire, it spreads in drops and covers the fire and ensures that it does not spread.

Carbondioxide

Another extinguishing material is carbon dioxide. It is widely used in fires caused by electricity and extinguishing fuel fires because it is not flammable and does not react with chemicals. Because carbondioxide is a gas, it spreads easily on burning fire and covers it in a short time.  When carbon dioxide is used indoors, because it will create a death risk, it is used to extinguish fires in open areas.

Fire Powder

It is one of the materials used for extinguishing fire. Also called chemical fire powder. They are known to be effective in extinguishing class B and C fires. They are effective in extinguishing Class A fires as well as Class B and C. However, the structures of the powders that are used are different. Extinguishing features of chemical fire powder material include; choking, cooling and removing the fire. When they are first sprayed on the flame they choke the flame with the carbon dioxide they extract. They also absorb a portion of the temperature to reduce the flame.

Foam

The last substance among the extinguishing materials is foam. Another name is known as foam. Foam is a completely chemical substance. When used to extinguish the fire, it completely covers the fire and prevents it from taking air and extinguishes it. Extinguishing materials need to be learned in the best way to minimize the bad consequences of fire events. In addition, it should be noted how it is used
